respiratory acidosis is a result of hypoventilation or abnormal breathing patterns and can be due to acute or chronic respiratory disorders, metabolic disorders, narcotic usage, and sjogren syndrome. this condition develops when there is a decrease in the amount of ventilation and oxygen being delivered to the body; when there is excessive carbon dioxide production and removal; or when there is an increased prevalence of bicarbonate ions in the blood. the lungs are the organs that remove carbon dioxide and oxygen from the blood. a rapid decrease in the ability of the lungs to regulate the exchange of carbon dioxide and oxygen can result in hypoxia (low blood oxygen) and hypercapnia (high levels of carbon dioxide), which are both medical emergencies.
according to the american lung association, the top three causes of death in the u.s. are heart disease, cancer and respiratory disease. the top three sources of respiratory diseases in the united states are the workplace, automobiles and indoor air pollution.
regarding the back track, if im interpreting correctly, there may be multiple overhead presses as part of a combo i find it a little disappointing. many orthopedists will tell you that lifting weight overhead such as we do in overhead presses is bad for your shoulder joint. its always present in the warmup, its there in the back track, and then we hit them again in the shoulder track. anytime ive talked to someone who has stopped coming to pump classes, its because of a shoulder injury. its makes me sad when safety is sacrificed for cool choreography, and it seems to be happening more and more often, in many subtle ways. i love bodypump, and i hate to see people soured on it.
